Deforestation

Natalie explains some of the cause of deforestation in Zimbabwe.  The need for firewood for cooking is a major use as alternative fuels are not available or very expensive.    The effect of the loss of tree cover has been increased water problems, with both flooding and drought in different areas leading to food insecurity .  Alternative energy sources such as solar pv and re-planting of trees can help reduce some of these problems.
